Book a Serum Electrolytes test (Sodium, Potassium, Chloride) for your dog or cat at home in Hyderabad. Critical for fluid therapy, kidney disease, heart disease, and Addison’s disease management.

Description

The Serum Electrolytes panel tests measure sodium (Na), potassium (K), and chloride (Cl) levels in your pet’s blood simultaneously. These three electrolytes are the most clinically important and frequently measured in veterinary medicine, as they control fluid balance, osmolality, nerve impulse transmission, acid-base status, and organ function in dogs and cats.

Sodium: Normal range is 144–160 mmol/L in dogs and 150–165 mmol/L in cats. Hyponatremia (low sodium) or hypernatremia (high sodium) occurs with water imbalance, Addison’s disease, kidney disease, or neurological disorders. Potassium: Normal range is 3.5–5.8 mmol/L in both species. Hypokalemia is common with vomiting, diarrhea, and diuretic therapy; hyperkalemia occurs with urinary obstruction, Addison’s disease, or acute kidney injury. Chloride: Normal range is 109–122 mmol/L in dogs and 112–129 mmol/L in cats. Chloride imbalances are key indicators of acid-base disorders.

Any ill pet requiring fluid therapy should have serum electrolytes measured immediately to guide safe and effective fluid choices. Electrolyte testing is especially vital in pets with vomiting, diarrhea, heart disease, kidney disease, urinary obstruction, or Addison’s disease.

At Home Petcare provides at-home serum electrolyte testing (sodium, potassium, and chloride) in Hyderabad. Our veterinary professionals collect a single blood sample from your pet at home, with results from a certified diagnostic laboratory.
